Results for Malibu. Re-Elect Stewart.

A record of real results — proven, public-safety leadership for Malibu.

Why Re-Elect Doug

Four years ago, Doug Stewart ran as a public-safety leader who promised to protect Malibu's character and restore good-faith governance. Then Malibu faced the most consequential challenge in its history — the Palisades, Franklin, and Broad fires and the floods that followed. As Mayor, Doug led the city through the emergency and delivered real, measurable results. This election decides whether Malibu keeps experienced, results-driven leadership — or starts over.

Meet Doug

Doug Stewart is a successful businessman and a Malibu resident of more than 25 years, passionate about public safety and serving his community.

With decades of experience in finance, investment, and budget management, Doug has built business success in both good times and bad — the same fiscal discipline he brought to Malibu's General Fund. He runs Sierra Nevada Investment Management, which advises family offices on their investments.

Doug has served Malibu in numerous leadership roles — on the Public Safety Commission, as a CERT team member, as an HOA president, and on several nonprofit boards — before being elected to the City Council and chosen by his colleagues to serve as Mayor through the city's response to the fires and floods. He holds an MA in Management from the Drucker Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University and a BBA from the University of Memphis.

After moving to Southern California in the late 1970s, Doug met his wife, Sharon, with whom he raised his son, Doug Stewart Jr. In their free time, Doug and Sharon enjoy sailing, skiing, hiking, and the natural beauty Malibu has to offer.
